–IMPROVEMENT TRUST HAS STARTED THE PROCESS OF PLANTING MINI FOREST IN THE CITY, MANNA

The work on laying of road to the tune of Rs 1.58 cr is near completion in the 25-acre scheme area of Improvement Trust Barnala. In the completion phase of project, plantation too has been undertaken in the project. Marking the onset of plantation activity Member of Parliament S Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that mini forest is also being planted by the trust, which is a very commendable initiative.
Member of Parliament S Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that the work on this road has been done after Chief Minister S Bhagwant Singh Mann issued special grant to lay the road so that area residents can get much needed respite.
He said that this road under the Municipal Improvement Trust has been constructed from Fuhara Chowk to the gate near the stadium at cost of Rs 86.94 lakhs. Apart from this, grills, footpaths and other works have been done from the bus stand to Valmiki Chowk and from Valmiki Chowk to the stadium at a cost of Rs 71.77 lakhs.
He added that he is continuously working for the development of Barnala, under which he recently met the Union Road and Transport Minister Sh Nitin Gadkari to widen the roads connecting the city to the bypass on the national highways from Barnala to Moga, Sangrur and Bathinda. .
Speaking at the occasion Chairman Improvement Trust Barnala Mr Ram Tirth Manna said that the road project worth Rs 1.58 crores is at its completion stage. Under this, the work of laying footpath, painting and plantation is going on. He said that about 350 different types of plants have been planted by the trust on road side and more are being planted. He thanked Chief Minister S Bhagwant Mann and Member of Parliament S Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer for giving special grant to carry out this project.
Mr. Manna said that apart from this, a mini forest is being planted in Barnala city as part of the campaign launched by the trust to make the city green. The process of afforestation has been started in the Trust site at the back of Prem Pradhan Market. He said that about 1000 to 1500 saplings will be planted in this place, which will further increase the greenery of the city.
