The 68th School State Level Games Gatka Under 14 Boys and Girls were inaugurated with great pomp and show under the leadership of District Education Officer Secondary Education Shiv Pal Goyal at Mata Sahib Kaur Girls College Talwandi Sabo.
The games were inaugurated by Constituency MLA Talwandi Sabo Professor Baljinder Kaur Chief Whip Cabinet Rank. Speaking on the occasion, she said that Gatka is a martial art game inherited from the Gurus. Gatka is a very cheap, easy and proven game of self-defense to keep the youth away from drugs and keep them connected to their heritage. The event was presided over by Deputy District Education Officer Secondary Education Sikander Singh Brar and District Sports Coordinator Jasvir Singh Gill.
On this occasion, Principal Amanpreet Singh, Principal Kamalpreet Kaur, Baljinder Singh Toor, Lecturer Jagdish Kumar, Dr. Ravneet Singh, Gurjit Singh Jhabbar, Gurjant Singh Chatthewala, Bhupinder Singh Taggar, Resham Singh, Ranjit Singh, Gurtej Singh, Balraj Singh were present, among others.
